Method for applying rust-preventive oil for rust-proofing treatment
Release date:
2016/06/21
Method for applying rust-preventive oil:
1) Immersion Method: For some small items, this method involves immersing them in rust-preventive oil to allow a layer of rust-preventive oil to adhere to their surfaces. The thickness of the oil film can be controlled by adjusting the temperature or viscosity of the rust-preventive oil.
2) The brush-coating method is used for outdoor architectural equipment or products with special shapes that are not suitable for immersion or spray coating. When brush-coating, it’s important to avoid buildup as well as to prevent missed spots.
3) For some large-sized anti-rust items that cannot be treated by immersion, the spray method is typically used. This involves spraying with filtered compressed air at a pressure of approximately 0.7 MPa in a clean-air environment. The spray method is suitable for solvent-based or thin-film anti-rust oils; however, comprehensive fire prevention and occupational safety measures must be implemented.
What are the main factors that influence metal corrosion?
Metal corrosion is caused by a variety of intrinsic and extrinsic factors. Summarized, the main ones are:
① The chemical composition and structure of the metallic material itself;
② Metal surface finish (oxygen concentration difference cell corrosion);
③ The composition and pH of the solution in contact with the metal surface;
④ Ambient temperature and humidity;
⑤ Various environmental media that come into contact with metal surfaces.
