Huicong Surface Treatment Network: Abstract: For a long time, due to the severe high-temperature climate and acidic rain conditions in Chongqing, the metal structural components of rail tracks—particularly the Q235 ordinary steel finger plate assemblies, which are highly susceptible to rust—have suffered serious corrosion, jeopardizing the smooth operation of rail lines and the safety of train operations. This article introduces a feasible and reliable heavy-duty anti-corrosion protection approach implemented by applying zinc-nickel coatings to the PC beam finger plates of Chongqing’s light rail system, offering valuable insights for designers of public transportation facilities. Currently, China has become the country with the fastest-growing urban rail transit system in the world. While China’s rail transit construction is booming, numerous problems and weak links have also been exposed in rail transit projects across various regions. For instance, the installation and construction of equipment, facilities, and components are often carried out in a rather rough-and-ready manner, leading to severe damage to the civil structures of subway tunnels. Corrosion of parts and components is extremely common, significantly shortening the service life of these projects and increasing both the difficulty and cost of daily operations and maintenance.
